The adventure tourism has developed well in recent years. In 2002, a foreign business organised an adventure tour for 600 participants, starting from Lao Cai province to Ha Long Bay in a fortnight. Then, tours to conquer the peak of Fancipan, the highest in Indochina, were organised.

Attractive, unique and impressive, adventure tours are becoming favourites for the Vietnamese and international tourists, particularly young people.

With diverse and rich natures, including many high mountains, deep valleys and caves, Vietnam will become an attractive destination for adventure tours, drawing a large number of tourists.

Seeing a good opportunity, many Vietnamese travel companies have organised adventure tours, including adventures in Tay Bac (Northwest) and the Central Highlands such as rock climbing, abseiling or canyoing.

These are very interesting tours with new but challenging sensation. Tourists also like diving tours in Nha Trang or tours walking through forests.

Businesses are also studying and putting into operation new tourist sites in Truong Son trail, Con Dao Island, or Death Valley in Da Lat, which is expected to draw a large number of participants. Businesses also attach importance to organise traditional tours in combination with adventures are hoped to make a breakthrough.

Trekking is now the most popular adventure in Vietnam. Trekking is often organised in the form of homestay at locals’ homes. When joining the tour, tourists will enjoy feelings of “returning to nature”.

Adventure tours requires good physical health and bravery. Before the tour, tourists must take part in a physical training period. However, tourists can train themselves at home.

Apart from choosing tours of travel agencies, tourists can also organise adventures themselves. Only with a motorbike, tourists can have a joyful and vivid tour.
